The Presque Isle Heritage Society was founded in 1980, and formed on June 18, 1981, dedicated to:

• The preservation of our area’s rich history.

• The education of present and future citizens.

• The acquisition of artifacts to help us remember.

The Society’s mission is to preserve the local history of our area by collecting oral and written histories, photographs, memorabilia and artifacts.  The Society maintains a small vintage cottage as a museum to house and display its collection.  The museum is open during the summer months.

The creation and maintenance of this website is the latest project of the Society. This website will serve as a permanent repository of our written and pictorial history, widely available to all. Contributions to the site are welcome.
